First Baseball Game

A few weeks back we piled into the car and headed up to DC for a day trip to visit our friends Graham and Clinton and catch a Washington Nationals game. Evan rode up with us and Christine took the train down from Connecticut so the law school friends could all catch up. Graham and Clinton scored some super sweet club seats right behind home plate for us (huge plus for Timothy since the club level has an air conditioned concourse with vendors and comfy chairs which look out over the field). Tim really enjoyed meeting mom and dad's friends and watching the game.

Play Date with Blake

Just over a month ago (yes, we are way behind on some blog posts) Timothy had a playdate with his good friend Blake. Erica and Greg invited us up for the day to visit with them at his parents' lakehouse. Everyone had a really great time and Tim got to go on his very first boat ride. He loved it, especially the nice breeze coming off the water.

Just in Time

Well, due to his new trick we decided to lower Timothy's crib over the weekend. His new trick is to start out on his back, flip to his stomach and then push back into a sitting position. He is all about this sitting position and prefers to hang out like this most of the day. This week (I know it's only Weds), his new thing is to constantly try to stand -- no crawling, etc., just going from a sit to a stand. He's getting tricky to keep an eye on.

Anyway -- it seems that we lowered his crib just in time, considering that below is how Mark found him this morning. Based on the furrowed brow he is sporting I just know he is contemplating pulling up to a stand and making a break for it. (Trust me, I know these things -- I frequently climbed out of my crib as a child.) Now that his crib is lowered we have some added assurance that even if he makes it up to a stand, he won't escape ... at least for now.

V-Sit and Reach

Anyone required to do this in gym class as part of the presidental fitness challenge or something or other? You have to do pull ups, sit ups, the shuttle run, the mile run, etc.? For the V-sit and reach you basically sit in a pike position with your feet about 6 inches apart and reach as far as you can between your toes. Meanwhile two of your classmates are pressing down on your knees to ensure that you don't bend them. It was an extremely bizarre way to measure flexibility.

But moving on. I was looking through pictures the other day and I came across this one where Timothy looks like he may be practicing his v-sit and reach. In reality he is contemplating the bears that are on the feet of his pjs, but for some reason v-sit and reach popped into my head. The picture is also entertaining because the three of them seem so content, each with their own activity. Anyway, just thought I would share.

Mark Redeemed

Mark definitely deserves a shout out. We all know that he is a super amazing, loving, caring father. BUT he has really outdone himself by assiting Timothy with earning a "best dressed" award at school. That's right. The other day upon picking Timothy up from school Mark was greeted by a picture on the door, which honored Timothy with the best dressed award. Timothy got his award for the "dress like a cowboy day," a day on which Mark was completely responsible for dressing Timothy. (Who am I kidding Mark is responsible for dressing Timothy 99% of the time). Great job Mark -- and great job Timothy for really pulling off the look -- not many 6 month olds can take on the cowboy look.

As some of you may recall, I called Mark out several months ago for a rather "busy" outfit that he put together. My bad Mark -- you are redeemed.

So Proud!

Baby in a Nook

Congratulations to our friend Evan who recently became a home owner and as an added bonus our neighbor! While getting the tour at Evan's new digs I snapped a cute picture of Timothy testing out her nook. She plans to put wine/ wine glasses in the nook, but I personally believe Timothy makes a better decoration. Although he is nearly as breakable as wine bottles and glasses, he doesn't get quite as dusty.

Congrats Evan -- Timmy loves your house!

6 Month Wellness Visit

Last week (7/12) Timothy had his 6 month appointment and all went well. There was a bit of a rough start to the appointment because upon arrival I realized that Timothy probably needed changing. He ended up leaking in his car seat and on Dad while waiting to get to a room to change him. Then on top of that I forgot to give him his preshot Tylenol. So we had to track down a nurse who clearly thought I was a bad Mom for not remembering (as did I). But after that things seemed to be on the up and up. Mark and I made our guesses at his weight and we were both at least 1/2 pound over. Oops. We have a little guy! Here are his stats:

Weight - 15 lbs 9.5 oz - 10%
Height - 26 inches - 25%
Head - 17 inches - 25%

After 4 shots and one oral vaccination we were done with the appointment. I look forward to the 9 month check up when he only has one shot!

Crowded Bed

I just love this photo. The other night there were bad storms so we let the dogs come sleep in our bed rather than listen to them bang on the door all night. Then in the morning I decided to bring Timothy in as well. Everyone slept for another hour or so, including Annie (not pictured).

Found It

Timothy recently found his tongue and wanted to show it off to everyone. He also had his 6 month doctor's appointment yesterday. Those pictures, however, are on a different camera so that post will have to wait. Apologies to those of you who I already texted this picture to. I hate to be redundant with the texts and blog posts but some of the photos are too cute not to share with everyone. Yes, yes -- I know I am extremely biased!

Best Work Day Ever

I had the best day at work the other day because Timothy and Mark came for a visit. It was a very short visit but it made my day nonetheless. He was, of course, a hit -- everyone loved him and he generously gave out lots of smiles!

Looks like he fits in...no?

A few kisses for my baby.

Wish he could brighten my day at work everyday!
