Italia

We are so behind in blogging. Work, holidays, etc. No other excuses other than general fatigue as well. Anyway. Thought I would post this picture quick -- my little italian baby! Thank you to cousin Emily for passing it along. We will send to Avery next:) Mark and I picked up this Italia fleece (as well as one for Maddie) when we were in Italy -- in the days before Timothy was even a twinkle in our eye (and before Emily was born too!).

The Car Seat Song

Wanted to record this before I forget it. It's poor quality (both in recording and singing). But let's face it, this blog is about trying to record memories -- so here's one of them. I started singing this song to Timothy from the very beginning because he hated his car seat. It seemed to help a bit and provide some familiarity. He does much better in his car seat now because he is no longer in an infant car seat. Nevertheless, I think he still enjoys the song. (I'll work on the video of the other song.)

Should have removed the paci so you can see his smile better

Halloween

Timothy really enjoyed his first Halloween.  He got to finger paint his pumpkin and then do a little trick or treating (thanks for the m&ms Aunt Evan).  He looked adorable in his lion costume.

Welcome to Avery Quinn Johnson

Like I said in an earlier post, Timothy is collecting cousins.  Here are some snapshots of our adorable new niece Avery Quinn.  Congrats Brad, Amanda and big sister Maddie.  You can see more photos and read all about her at http://johnsonbundleofjoy.blogspot.com/

Strut Your Stuff

Timothy is walking all over the place now and is quite proud of himself.

Another Bradby on the Way

Watch out world, another Bradby is on the way.  My big brother Tony and his wife Bridget are due to have their first baby on Cinco de Mayo.  We are so excited.  Timothy is collecting cousins left and right.
Congrats Tony & Bridget!!!

Happy 10 Months

We have finally hit double digits.  Not sure where the time has gone, but we've loved every minute of it.  Happy Birthday Timothy.

First Steps - 10/21/11 - 9.5 months old

Timothy officially took his first steps last night. He actually took several steps on three different occasions but we only caught one on video. To be honest I didn't think he was this close, but earlier this week his daycare teachers said that they thought it would be any day now. I was excited to see these steps, but more excited that they occurred when both mommy and daddy (and Vovo) were present  and not while he was at daycare. Thank you Timothy for thinking of your mommy when achieving your milestones. So without further ado below is the video -- as noted this was his third time taking a few steps and I do think the first two were better, but to be honest I was so surprised to see the first two attempts that I didn't even consider getting out the video camera. Anyway -- we'll see if he now starts to take off or instead opts to wait a while before trying it again:)
The First Steps Video!

In this video he is just standing - but it shows off his excellent balance -- ignore the obnoxious commentary by me

Pictures from 9 Month Well Visit

I took a few photos of our visit and didn't get them up in time to announce the stats but thought I would put them up now. Here's Timothy at the doctor's office. He did an excellent job as always - although with each trip he gets squirmier and squirmier!

Hello Everyone

I love the wave at the midway point.

Approaching Double Digits

Our little man turned nine months old yesterday, not sure where the time has gone.  He still is a shrimp according to the stats from his 9 month check-up.
17 lbs 6 oz - 10th percentile
27 inches tall - 10th percentile
17.5 inch head - 25th percentile

Vacations can be so exhausting

These two are the most chillax dogs ever, especially on vacation.

Love for Daddy, Love for Timmy

These boys sure do love each other. You can just tell by the picture. As much as I hate to be mushy this was too cute not to share

Thanks to Grandma Kay for the jacket --
 it's getting chilly down south!

The Many Looks of Timothy

Timothy is quite the versatile little boy. Here are a few of his looks.  (Who said you can't play dress up with little boys --it's even more fun than playing with dolls!)

Crazy Hair Timothy- for crazy hair day at school

Football Fan Timothy - exuse the unflattering photo of moi -

Thanks for the Walker Cousin Emily

and Aunt Kristin and Uncle Jamey. Here is an awful video -- I tried to get a better one -- of Timothy using it. He has been playing with the walker ever since we got it, but about a week ago he started using it to walk. He's not too into it, but occasionally, he'll give it a go. I figure whatever -- if he wants to walk he can.  If not that's cool too.
I'm mostly posting this video for 2 reasons -- 1) so I remember approximately around when he started walking with support and 2) because I love how at the end he gets distracted by me and drops and makes a beeline crawl toward me

A Song for Timothy

I'll be the first to admit that I have absolutely no creativity.  However, in spite of this and due entirely to lack of sleep, during the first few months of Timothy's life I composed a song for him.  Okay - I did not exactly compose a song, but during the late night nursing sessions I made up a song that I sang for him and it ended up sticking.  He seems to enjoy it and when he's crying in the car it tends to soothe him.  I'm about 99% sure that he likes the song because it is VERY repetitive, it says his name a lot, and it is familiar to him.  Anyway -- per the recommendation of Amanda, I thought I would share the lyrics.

My Inspiration

A Song for Timothy

[Chorus] I love my baby, baby, baby, baby all day long
I love my baby, baby, baby, baby and I sing this song

Timothy you’re my little boy
Timothy you’re my pride and joy
Timothy I love you so much you don’t know,
So I sing this song so my love will show

Chorus

Timothy you weren’t born on your due date
Timothy you were a few days late
Timothy I love you so much you don’t know,
So I sing this song so my love will show

Chorus

Timothy you were born in the winter
Timothy they to took you out like a splinter
Timothy I love you so much you don’t know,
So I sing this song so my love will show

Chorus

Timothy you don’t look like me, but
Timothy you are as cute as can be
Timothy I love you so much you don’t know,
So I sing this song so my love will show

Chorus

Timothy you have so much hair
Timothy the other babies say it’s not fair
Timothy I love you so much you don’t know,
So I sing this song so my love will show

Chorus

Timothy you’re a little man
Timothy you’re gonna get a tan
Timothy I love you so much you don’t know,
So I sing this song so my love will show

Chorus

Timothy you have a sister and brother
Timothy they love you like no other
Timothy I love you so much you don’t know,
So I sing this song so my love will show

Chorus

Timothy you are getting so big
Timothy your hair looks like a wig
Timothy I love you so much you don’t know,
So I sing this song so my love will show

Chorus

Timothy you can grow up to be
Timothy anything you want to be
Timothy I love you so much you don’t know,
So I sing this song so my love will show

Chorus

Timothy I don’t know what I’d do
Timothy if I didn’t have you
Timothy I love you so much you don’t know,
So I sing this song so my love will show

On the go on the sand

Here's a little video of Timothy exploring on the beach.  It took a few days for him to do more than eat sand, but here he is crawling around.  I have a feeling he is going to be a big fan of the beach!

OBX

So we took Timothy to the outerbanks for his first beach experience.  We are hoping he loves the beach as much as his mom and dad.  In general his first few days were spent mostly consuming sand and dropping his paci in the sand.  However, there was also some general appreciation of the wind in his hair and the sound of the waves crashing.  Here are a few pics with some more to come, I'm sure.

First time on the sand
Toes in the water
My boys.. both so happy!
Umbrella time -- look at that smile!

Ta Da

As noted below.  Timothy's new skill.  Check it out.

8 months

Guess who's 8 months old.  Timothy is now 8 months old and so much fun.  He is seriously one happy baby.  How did we get so lucky?  Here are a few things about Timothy at 8 months;

1. Obsessed with his paci.  Takes it out, puts it in and can spot it across the room.  Basically, he's a big fan of his paci.
2. Crawling.  He's been crawling for a few weeks  Sometimes he does a "regular" crawl but usually it's this weird crab like crawl, especially when he really wants to get somewhere fast.
3. Sandy boy.  His first several days on the beach were spent consuming lots of sand.  Oh well, what can you do?
4. Lots of different foods.  We are continuing our food education - pears, bananas, peaches, mangoes, avocado, etc.  The fruit really is a hit.
5. Flirting with the ladies.  Catch him flirting all the time.  The other day we were in a store and he had an older woman (1 year old or so) blowing kisses to him.
6. Trying to pack on the pounds but he still seems to be a bit of a peanut.  We estimate he's about 17 pounds.
7. More teeth.  Seems like he is constantly teething.  His top 2 teeth are officially in but it appears there are a few more trying to make an appearance.
8. Holding his bottle.  Well kind of.  He's started to hold his bottle himself and we are pretty darn impressed!

You Talking to Me?

I have always felt safe at home because we have an alarm on the house.  Additionally, we have always had the protection of our two ferocious dogs.  But now we have some extra help defending the castle.  Timothy has really perfected his tough guy look and I think he can pretty much take on anyone (just disregard the froggie paci that is upside down).

Bring it.

First Haircut

Timothy had his first haircut about a month ago, sorry for the late posting.  While I (Mark) wanted to wait, his hair was just getting too long for the hot and humid Richmond weather we've had this summer.  Sarah found this great place, Pigtails and Crewcuts, that does haircuts for little ones (plus nails for the next time cousins Maddie and Emily come to town).  Timothy did really well, he especially loved the police car seat he was in.  Amy and the two Alevia's came along to help document the moment.  I can't believe Timothy got his first haircut before his 2 & a half year old cousin Maddie.

 Awaiting the big moment

Here we go, loving the police car

Checking things out in the mirror

 Chop chop chop

Look at all that hair they cut off

How many people does it take to document a first haircut?

Lovin' the new do

Meeting the Triplets

A few weeks ago Timothy got the chance to meet some more of his cousins and he had a blast spending time with the Lisa, Darryl and triplets. Happy 12th birthday ladies!!!

Food Time

Well we finally started Timothy on food about a month ago.  The first few days he wasn't very into it but he has certainly come around.  His diet now consists of milk, formula, rice cereal, apples, carrots (not a fan fave), bananas, sweet potatoes and avocados.  Next up are pears and maybe peaches.  Here are some snapshots from his first-ever feeding up at Grandma's house in Pennsylvania.

Whoa dad, whoa!  You want to put that stuff in my mouth, are you nuts?

 Hmmm, interesting taste dad.

Enough with this spoon, give me the whole bowl already.

 Yummo

What are you looking at?!?!?!?!?
